The BTRS-Jr-PC is a complete reaction system designed for vapor phase catalyst evaluation and continuous flow analysis. The standard system includes one fixed bed tubular reactor with system control accomplished by a PLC and a supervisory computer. This system allows for accurate and automatic control of feed valves, status valve, sample valve, reactor temperature and pressure. Custom designs are available for other sized reactors, temperatures up to 1000ºC.

FEATURES

  • Automatic Feed Controls include high-pressure metering valves, reverse-flow check valves, air operated shutoff valves, and 3-way diverter valves.

  • A Mixer-Vaporizer is provided for creation of a single, homogeneous, stream of reactants to be fed into the reactor.

  • In order to ensure that undesirable condensation is minimized, the following items are mounted in the isothermal oven:
    - Heated, fixed bed, tubular reactor
    - Heated transfer line from the reactor
    - Sampling Valve
    - Reactor Status Valve
    - Back Pressure Regulater

  • The Reactor Status Valve provides a convenient means of sampling the feed material or it can permit reactant by-pass.

  • Pressure is maintained by an Automatic Back Pressure Regulator for closed loop control.

  • The Sampling Valve provides for transfer of the vapor phase system effluent via a heated transfer line to a customer supplied Gas Chromatograph.

 

BENEFITS

The automatic controls of the BTRS-Jr-PC allow for precisely controlled processes with complete data acquisition capability during continuous flow 
evaluations. The front panel connections for the 4 feeds, purge gas and GC carrier gas simplifies any process changes.

Optional equipment includes Liquid metering pumps, and Mass Flow Controllers for automated delivery of reactants. Also available are a Gas/Liquid separator with a timed drain, a heating/cooling coil, and a 
heated transfer line to a Gas Chromatograph port.

Custom configurations can involve expanded operating temperature and pressure ranges as well as the size of the reactors.
